The following comments have been made about the
DED and the
CD-CHECK products:
"We have been using your Digital Error Detector
(DED) and the CD-CHECK disc for some time now
and are very pleased with the results. Looking after
30 or so CD players and close to 50 DAT recorders
in our station has just become a lot easier.
We use the disc (CD-CHECK) to evaluate the CD
players before they fail in an on air situation, or
whenever an operator reports questionable
operation.
The DED has improved the reliability of the DAT
machines, allowing us to check out the decks after
repairs, and routinely before they fail. Keep up the
good work..." Ralph Keeping, Maintenance
Coordinator, CBC Radio, Canada
"....some of my CDs are scratched to hell and are
unplayable, so DJing the rave with CDs I wasn't sure
about would have been a bad idea. I checked my
whole playlist (watching and waiting for the red
LED...) and replaced songs that showed errors with
ones that would play error-free.
...my father's Marantz has come back from the plant
or repair shop with new parts installed. It doesn't do
any better with CD-CHECK than it did before, but
with any CD in good condition the player plays
flawlessly. Sounds real nice, too. The DED sits on
top and occasionally we see it light up red, but only
with my CDs, not dad's finger-print-free CDs.
..the frequency of clicks tends to be once or twice
every rotation of the CD. Usually there are a number
of visible scratches on the surface of the CD,
although only some scratches are deep enough to
cause DED to light up. Sometimes the DED is
displaying error messages (intermittent flashes of the
red LED) while the music plays uninterrupted from
the Marantz. I suppose our player is built to deal with
small scratches easily." Matthew Claener, DJ,
Canada
"I guess the folks at Digital Recordings weren't
content to have the best error correction and error
concealment test CD on the market. Shrtly after
developing CD-CHECK, they developed and are now
selling a unique device called the "Digital Error
Detector" or "DED" for short.
Both CD-CHECK and DED were both very
informative and fun to use.
Digital Recordings' CD-CHECK proved to be an
outstanding tool for checking the quality and
serviceability of CD players. It has found a welcome
home in my bag of tools when evaluating players.
Highly recommended !
DED is a unique and useful product as well. The
nices thing is that it can be used with any audio CD,
be it music or a specially constructed test disc.
Another plus is that DED can detect errors with DAT
players as well. I therefore give an enthusiastic "two
thumbs up" to DED as well. It's a super product...."

"I had a chance to check out the CD-CHECK today
and loved it. I tested 5 different units and got varied
results that were a bit surprising. The school
(Conservatory of Recording Arts) where I"m on staff
wants to buy one already. So it's a hit.....I've used it
and I highly recommend the product."

"Your new CD-CHECK evaluation disc has already
proven itself to be a wonderful, quick and reliable
resource for our store in evaluating trade in's and
new products that we receive often from our
suppliers for evaluation. We highly recommend your
CD-CHECK for any audio store, manufacturer or
importer."
Steven Budovitch, Glubes Sound Studio, Canada
"Not since the introduction of the Dennison
Protractor have I found an audio set up tool as
impressive and useful as the CD-CHECK. What the
Dennison did for turntables the CD-CHECK disc will
do for CD players. I've been in the Hi End Audio
industry for 25 years and I am regularly called on by
customers to tune up their systems. The CD-CHECK
will now permanently be added to the battery of tools
I use to do this job. Congratulations to the folks at
Digital Recordings for a truly spectacular product. I
won't leave home without it."
Gary Harrington, audio consultant, HARRINGTON
AUDIO, Canada
"I've always thought that error-correction abilities
were underemphasized in high-end CD-player
reviews. As I see it, if the digital data isn't read
correctly in the first place, no amount of D/A magic
will make it sound right...I'd really like to believe that
this superior error-detection scheme will catch
on...I've become quite fond of CD-CHECK. The test
is so simple and quick that I can get good results in
a matter of seconds....CD-CHECK offers an
unparalleled CD-player evaluation tool. Nothing else
I know of works quite as well for really ferreting out
which players correct errors well and which don't."
