Developers Note The Coaxial Ported Wedge (Reference 3) represents the logical evolution for the acoustic suspension version we built in the early 80s. The near optimal pressure load provided by the triangular shaped enclosure and the low mass coaxial driver is an excellent match. The coax was selected for its cast basket, exotic cone, coaxiality, and strong ceramic magnet. Over the last few years the raw loudspeaker has been improved by the w/mid cone mass being lowered 20%, the lead in wires to the voice coils are balanced on both sides of the cone and the tweeters resonance has been lowered. The crossover consists of audiophile grade caps, air core inductors and non-inductive resistors. The speaker has extended low frequency response and the midrange superiority is further enhanced by the coaxial nature of the system.
